Our hike with Kanthasamy (Samy for short) was absolutely incredible! It began with a light trek through the tea plantation. Samy was so knowledgeable about the teas and the processing of the plants. After we moved further up, passing beautiful views of the near by mountains into the clouds. We hiked to what is the “elephant play ground”. Although we did not see any elephants we could see their whole ecosystem, where they scratched on large boulders, where they would lay down - I could easily picture them moving through the brush and area. After we had a very flavorful and local lunch at the top (which Samy provided). As we made our way back to our starting point, we passed a local village with very friendly villagers. I would recommend this tour to anyone looking to get off the beaten path and wants to see the true beauty and nature that Munnar has to offer! Samy was a wonderful guide, knowledgeable, safe, and so friendly.
